Internal Discussion – CoP Climate and Health Justice
“After noticing that ITM’s carbon emissions linked to international business travel were again reaching pre-covid levels, the SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) unit and Travel Office decided to propose an adjustment to our travel policy. We already had the ABC principle in place (Avoid, Book an alternative, Compensate), but realized that policy measures had to be taken to assure compensation was made possible. The ambition was to align our policy with current standards and to try to get ITM on the right path and in line with the with EU Green Deal. In our presentation we’ll focus on the process we went through from idea to implementation and the pitfalls we encountered along the way.”
