Dear civil society colleagues,

The 74th World Health Assembly comes at a time when the world is going through an unprecedented health crisis. Civil society has been at the forefront for the last one-and-a-half years in advocating for solidarity and equitable access to healthcare.

To facilitate sharing and coordination during WHA74, we invite you to join us in an informal daily virtual civil society lounge:

  • We will look back at the previous day at the Assembly, debrief each other, share assessment and insights, and flag reports and assessments published by others.
  • We will look ahead to the current day, talk over the agenda, brief each other on assessments, positions and advocacy plans or WHA side events.
  • And there will be enough space for informal exchanges and of course, gossip.

The World Health Assembly sessions will start daily at 10 AM CEST. Therefore, the “WHA Today” civil society lounge will be open from 9-10 AM, starting on Tuesday 25 May. We hope you will join us on any day throughout the World Health Assembly, with your cup of tea or coffee.

Please use the working document to flag in advance if you are available for contributing to one of the sessions, providing a debriefing of the previous day or an outlook to an important item expected to be dealt with at the World Health Assembly on the day ahead.

See you there!
Best regards,

Jyotsna Singh and Thomas Schwarz
