GERMAN MEDICAL AID ORGANISATION ACTION MEDEOR E.V.

The charitable, non-governmental organisation action medeor e.V. was established in 1964 to provide basic drugs and medical equipment to people in developing countries. Since then, action medeor has been supporting more than 10,000 hospitals and health posts in 140 countries worldwide with essential and vital medicines.

In cases of emergency, action medeor delivers medical aid to the disaster area. Thanks to a permanent supply of more than 150 different drugs and approximately 600 items of medical supplies and equipment, deliveries of medical aid can reach the disaster area within the first 24 hours. Furthermore, action medeor stocks Emergency Health Kits ready for immediate shipment in case of emergency.

In co-operation with experienced local non-governmental organisations, action medeor handles its own health care projects in Asia, Latin America and Africa. In these projects, action medeor for example supports the establishment of healthcare services, the education and training of local health personnel or the improvement of water and sanitation conditions.

Knowledge transfer and training of local professionals in the pharmaceutical sector aim at strengthening the healthcare system of communities. These projects include trainings for local professionals as well as the promotion of the local production of medicines by providing relevant pharmaceutical advisory services.
