A discussion with Remco van de Pas, UNU-IIGH
Thursday, 27 February 2025, 15.00-16.00 CET

In this session, UN University Senior Researcher Remco van de Pas discusses UNU-IIGH’s direction of work on Climate Justice and Health. Under its new strategy 2024-2028 UNU-IIGH has started an ambitious line of work bringing Climate, Health and Justice work together. In collaboration with a diverse group of actors UNU-IIGH aims to develop research and public sector capacity, global public goods in addressing the climate and health crisis.  Following principles of human security, democratic deliberation, post-growth ethics and respecting ecological planetary boundaries UNU-IIGH advances knowledge, governance, policy transformation on climate and health matters including action on its structural determinants. It also wants to hold those actors to account who have been historically and contemporaneously responsible for ecological and health harms. This session provides an initial exchange on how to further this work on health equity.
