Faith based health organizations and Maternal
and new born and child health: Challenges and opportunities

"Faith based organisations have been contributing substantially, in many regions in the world, in contributing to improving women and children's health, in close collaboration with the Governments. In line with the UN secretary general call to care for every woman and every child, it is vital to review the challenges and opportunities in these critical efforts, with a view on expanding on effective interventions that contribute to the wellbeing of new-borns, children and mothers. After a brief overview of the Global situation, the session will bring together key experiences form Faith based providers in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and India. The specific challenges and opportunities in these regions will be reviewed and specific opportunities for scaling up services and strengthening of faith base hospital and primary clinics facilities will be explored."
