Medicines procurement and supply management toolbox

Medicines procurement and supply management toolbox

The procurement and supply management (PSM) toolbox project was initiated by the World Health Organization AIDS Medicines & Diagnostics Services (WHO/AMDS) in 2006. The goal is to disseminate information on the available PSM tools and to assist health staff in low and middle income countries in the various steps of the procurement and supply management process. Several WHO partners and other organizations contribute to the PSM Toolbox. i+solutions is WHO/AMDS’ main implementing partner for this project.

The PSM Toolbox has two versions: a website and a CD-ROM. The website contains multiple user-friendly search options, tool news items, and demo videos explaining how to use all the website’s features. The PSM Toolbox website is updated on a regular basis with new tools and new versions of tools that are already included.
The online database currently contains over 100 English tools and 30 French tools divided into the following categories: Selection, Quantification, Procurement, Inventory Management, Use, Monitoring & Evaluation, Policy, Pricing and Capacity Building.
The CD-ROM version was developed to accommodate those without reliable internet connection. The tools have been saved on the CD-ROM and can be accessed without being online. Both the website and the CD-ROM have English and French versions.

You can access the website at: http://www.psmtoolbox.org.
