MMI Network Policy

"Medicus Mundi International is the Network of private not-for-profit organisations working in the field of international health cooperation and advocacy. The Network members fight global poverty by promoting access to health and health care as a fundamental human right (“Health for All”). The Network aims at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the work of its members and their partners through sharing know-how and joining forces. The Network’s key strategy is to strengthen the health system as a whole. Strengthening the private not-for-profit health sector is an essential aspect in this."

The MMI Network Policy adoped by the Networks 2009 Annual Assembly covers the following issues:

  • MMI as a Network
  • Shared vision of the Network members
  • Aim and mission of the Network
  • Network members and partners
  • Agenda setting, roles and division of work within the Network
  • Financial contributions
  •  Specific policies to be developed

The MMI Network Policy is, together with the association’s statutes, the basic Medicus Mundi International Network document. It is founded on the legally binding statutes and contains a set of guiding principles and operational guidelines which will be translated into more specific policies and strategic plans.

Networks are dynamic and complex systems influenced by their history and the personalities of their core members. The MMI Network Policy does not tell the history of the MMI Network nor does it explicitly refer to it, but is rooted in it.

The Policy will be reviewed periodically.
