"An innovative animation, storytelling and learning
exercise"
During the last meeting of the MMI working group on Human
Resources for Health, we discussed to organize a follow
up on a Cordaid “writeshop” on promising HRH
practices. The writeshop – a kind of study which
is not at all classical academic research, but an innovative
animation, storytelling and learning exercise focusing
on two workshops where stories are brought together, know-how
is shared and mutual learning happens - is focused on
English speaking countries. Cordaid and the MMI working
group considered it to be an added value to do the same
study for French speaking countries.
"We look for promising HRH practices"
The MMI Board agreed with this idea. So we can start
the first step of the preparation of this writeshop now.
We look for promising HRH practices within the partner
organizations of the MMI members. The idea is to bring
up the names of these partner organizations who could
be involved at the end of June. The choice of the most
interesting cases will be done by the HRH working group
in July. 8 most interesting cases of promising HRH practices
will be chosen and variety in member organizations and
countries will be important criteria as well.
In follow up of our discussion, please find enclosed
the explanatory note regarding the writeshops “Promising
HRH Practices”. This note has been written in the
context of the program of Cordaid. As discussed during
the meeting, it just gives you a first idea on what the
writeshop will be. When you contact your partners, you
might need to adapt the second paragraph to your own situation
to better embed the writeshops in the HRH work that you
implement together with your partners.

"So please let us know if you are interested"
I hope that this explanation note can help you by introducing
the MMI-study about "Promising HRH Practices in french
speaking countries" in your organisation and it will
help you by bring up good cases.
Please let us
know as soon as possible if
your organization – and your partners – are
interested to participate in this writeshop and send us
first feedback - or even better: an abstract about what
we could expect as your contribution. Please contact me
if there are questions.
